1

Water and Heat Resistant

While our cabinet door and drawer fronts are water- and heat-resistant, care must be taken when using hot water or a steam source close to thermofoil doors. The Door Maker brand thermofoil doors have been tested to withstand temperatures up to 95˚C (203˚F) but direct steam will deactivate the glue.

Some precautions:

  1. When using the self-cleaning oven feature, remove drawer and doors adjacent to the oven.
  2. Be aware of the placement of toasters, toaster ovens, broilers, kettles, etc.
2

Easy To Clean

TDM thermofoil finished cabinetry is easy to clean. Use a gentle mixture of soap and water, or a standard household all-purpose cleaner and wipe clean with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals when cleaning, such as lacquers, thinners, bleaches, or cleaners containing solvents or abrasives. Never use cleansers with toluene or acetone.

3

Scratch Resistant

Avoid bumping or hitting cabinet doors and drawers, especially with sharp objects. Cuts, dents, and abrasions can result in water seeping under the PVC causing bubbling.

Minor surface scratches can be repaired using:

  1. High-grade polishing compound.
  2. Polish area with carnauba-based wax.
  3. Repair kit from a reputable paint company.
