FAQ

Refacing your space has never been easier, but we know the process can be intimidating. The Door Maker has a collection of helpful tutorial videos to guide you through every stage of the process and the process is as simple as 1-2-3, measure, order, and install.

• Let our video tutorials take you through step-by-step with topics that cover everything from cabinet door removal for measurements to final installation techniques.
• Find your inspiration. Browse our social platforms to find what appeals to you. Once you have determined your style concept and color palate, you are almost ready to start building.
• Consider additional tools to help – order color swatches, order sample doors, add hinge holes to your door, and add hinges to your order.

To paraphrase the adage, it is best to measure twice and build once. TDM manufactures to 1/10,000” of accuracy. Providing us with a precise measurement ensures your cabinet doors fit well, open freely, and close securely.

1. Choose one from more than 30 Door Panel Profiles and select Next Step.

  • For additional information on our doors, go to Products – Doors and select the item you wish to know more about.
  • Remember, you can order sample doors in various door panels, styles, and colors to determine what best meets your needs.

 

2. Choose the Door Style. One must be selected to proceed. Select Next Step to continue.

  • The Door Style is the shape of the inside of your door panel or the inner panel profile.
  • The options available for that panel design are highlighted for each door profile.
  • Door Styles are free of charge and therefore will not alter the cost of your door.

 

3. Choose the Edge Profile and select the Next Step.

  • The Edge Profile is the shape of the outer corners of the door.
  • The options available for that panel design are highlighted for each door profile.
  • The Edge Profile is free of charge and therefore will not alter the cost of your door.

 

4. Choose your Color. 

  • The Door Maker has one of the largest collections of cabinet door colors in North America, with over 130 colors in stock in matte, sheen, high gloss, and textured thermofoil finishes.
  • Remember to choose the color for the back of your door. The default color is White Melamine. You may opt to match the door front for an additional cost.
  • Navigate through our 3 color groups easily by understanding where to find what you are looking for.

 

Minimalist (Group 1)
A showcase of understated elegance, this collection of solid, primarily matte-finished colors features little to no sheen, with a few exciting surprises like pebbling effects, or mildly textured options.

Structured (Group 2 & 3)
This color palate showcases light to dark woods, metallic sheens, and complex textures such as faux alligator leather. A collection for both the nature lover by day and the daredevil by night.

Polished (Group 4)
See your achievements, creativity and we dare say, exceptional tastes reflected in these super high gloss finishes.

 

5. Enter the Dimensions of your door. 

  • Choose your preferred unit of measurement, the default setting is Imperial.
  • Note that to enter fractions use the two drop-down menus. For example, to enter a width of 24 3/16 inches, type 24, select 3 from the first menu and 16 from the second menu.

 

6. In the Quantity box enter the number of doors you need with these specifications.

 

7. Check and edit your Add-on Options.

  • You can choose to add Hinge Holes only, or Hinge Holes and Hinges to further simplify your installation.
    • Indicate if the door will be opening on the left- or right-hand side and confirm the hole placement for each door.
  • You can Add a Drilling Template to your order.
  • Bump-ons are also available per door.

 

8. Add any Notes or Comments that will assist with processing your order.

 

9. Add to Cart.

 

10: Repeat as necessary to complete your custom build.

Use TDM’s Build a Door tool to construct customized door fronts, drawers, mullions and frames, and whatever else you need to reface your space.

• Access the Build a Door configurator to start your order. This will default to Doors.
• To build Mullions and Frames, Panels, or another option, click on the relevant blue tab under the ‘Step 1’ heading.

Installing your new custom cabinet door fronts takes just a few minutes and, in most cases, requires only one tool. Watch our helpful tutorial videos that take you through installation step-by-step.

The Door Maker offers more customization options than any other manufacturer in North America. With over 30 door panel styles, 8 inner panel profiles, 11 outer edge profiles, and 130+ colors, order sample doors book to help you narrow your options.

Go to the Build a Door configurator to start your sample order. This will default to Doors.

To build a Sample Door click on the relevant blue tab, Samples, under the ‘Step 1’ heading.

  • Choose one option from our more than 30 Door Panel Profiles and select Next Step.
  • Choose the Door Style. One must be selected to proceed. Select Next Step to continue.
  • Choose the Edge Profile and select the Next Step.
  • Choose your Color.
  • The default size setting is 5” x 16″.
  • Add to cart.

The Door Maker offers 130+ colors in matte, sheen, faux wood, textured, and high gloss finishes. Order single color swatches or a complete color swatch book to help you Build a Door that you love.

Go to the Build a Door configurator to start your swatch order. This will default to Doors.

To order one or multiple color swatches, click on the relevant blue tab, Swatches, under the ‘Step 1’ heading.

  • The filter will default to an A la Carte setting, allowing you to choose individual colors. Change this setting to Swatch Book to order our entire collection of colors.
  • In the A la Carte setting, click on each color you want to order a swatch of. Selected colors will have a blue checkmark in the upper right corner.
  • Use the left and right arrows to navigate through each group, select as many options as you like.
  • Your total is updated in real-time at the bottom of the page.
  • Once you have selected all your color swatches, click Add to Cart.

The Door Maker leads the way! We offer you the best lead time in the business for online custom cabinet doors and cabinetry accessories.

Our lead time is two weeks or 10 business days, with the allowance of one day to verify your order. The best lead time in the business.

 

How it works:

  • Order Placed – Friday 10th
  • Order Verified – Monday 13th
  • Production Starts – Tuesday 14th
  • Order Ships – Monday 27th

 

We commence production on orders 24 hours after they are placed allowing a brief grace period for updates.

Any changes to your order submitted after this period are subject to charges.

Changes received after production has commenced are considered a new order.
